Forgiveness is the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, et go of negative emotions such as vengefulness, with an increased ability to which the offender well. Forgiveness is different from abandoning (failing to see the action as wrong and in need of forgiveness), excusing (not holding the offender as responsible for the action) forgetting (removing awareness of the offense from consciousness), pardoning and reconciliation (restoration of friendship).
Truth
be said, we are hard wired humanly to retaliate when we are offended. There is this
adrenaline rush that makes us feel the deer need to retaliate in order for
people to get compensated for the wrong they’ve done to us. Experience as
shown that retaliation isn’t the best way of getting revenge as it may
sometimes end up exaggerating the problem.
Forgiveness is not an easy
action as it is often portrayed especially those who are hypocritical preach
about forgiveness. Most people say “i forgive you” without taking it to the
heart. For forgiveness to occur, the “forgive” must do this with his/her
heart. Forgiveness cannot just be done carnally, hence not effective when it is
done by just saying of words.
The answer to the question why
forgiveness is hard is because the human consciousness has hard time living in
the present moment. Forgiveness is giving up all hope of a better past. Even
though forgiveness is a hard task, we still must try our possible best to
forgive even though it may take a while. Forgiveness can be a process that
needs time for its completion.
WHY MUST I FORGIVE?
1. JESUS FORGAVE OUR SINS:
The holy Bible
tells us of how God sent his only begotten son to die for our sins. Prior to te
arrival of Jesus on earth, man was under bondage, but Jesus decided to pay the
sacrifice of cleansing us from our sins in order for man to be mediated back to
its creator called God.
2. IT IS A BURDEN NOT TO FORGIVE:
Often
times when we get disappointed by one actions or the other, we get burned as this
makes us to be full of range and anger. We are unable to do anything
psychologically right at this period of time. Have a clear mind is the key to
productivity.
3 FREEDOM IS FORGIVENESS:
The most
important reason for forgiveness is because it leads us to be close to God. If
you cannot forgive, then you’re not free with the redemption. Forgiveness
doesn’t need to be instantaneous, but with the help of God, everything will get
much better and pretty fast.
Remember forgiveness begins with you
Have you’ve forgiven who?
